Applying Studying Institutions Living

Costs

  • All students at all institutions must pay the semester fee. This contribution is used for student self-administration, the students' union (halls of residence, catering, emergency loans) and for student accident insurance. At many institutions, the student card also acts as a so-called semester ticket. This entitles the student to use all public transport in the city or region free of charge for the entire semester. At these institutions, the semester fee is slightly higher than at institutions with no semester ticket. The semester fee is normally between 100 and 200 Euros.

  • The DAAD provides clear information in various languages about the costs involved with studying in Germany You will also find information about tuition fees there.
