- According to the German Student Union's international student portal, students can expect the following outgoings:
- Rent: Average 240 Euro (monthly)
- Deposit: Maximum three months' rent (will be refundet (incl. the interest) after your rend contract has expired)
- Health insurance: 50-90 Euro (monthly)
- Enrolement fee, depending on university: 60-250 Euro (one-time per semester)
- Local immigration authority fees: In some cases, fees are charged for issuing a residence permit, for example 50-60 Euro in Munich
- Bedding and other basic equipment for room/hall of residence: 100-150 Euro
- You should also find out in advance the exact amount of tuition fees that could be payable at the institution of your choice and include these in your annual budget.
